Time Saving Tips for On The Go

Tuesday, 4 March 2014

I'm not going to lie, recently pretty much everything beauty related has taken a step down during this busy period of my life, a part from moisturising (Thank the lord for Vaseline Spray & Go!). I'm guilty of many things including, going more than a day with chipped nails, skipping face masks and lacking in drinking fluids department.

However, along with my go-to body moisturiser, the Vaseline Spray & Go, which I have written a full post on here. There is another type of beauty product that is a little lifesaver for me. Bases which even out my skin tone and add radiance. After a quick application in the morning after moisturiser, these ensure I don't need to spend so much time perfecting my foundation base. Not only that, on days where I really don't want to wear any foundation. These offer my skin a natural, healthy glow, with a tiny bit of coverage. You can see some of my favourite above, these range from tint release moisturisers, BB and CC Creams.

The next essential item I should say is my iPad. I spend the majority of my time on trains, resulting in not being able to complete the most simple daily errands. The apps that are available are extremely convenient For example the BlogLovin app for keeping up to date with the community, or the HSBC app to make sure all my banking is done on time. I'm especially loving the RightMove application. I'm at the stage in my life where I'm looking for a place to buy with my boyfriend, and with a wifi connection I can see the latest property available on the market.

My Make-up: 5 Nights In Paris

Saturday, 22 February 2014

Five nights on a city break means you're going to need reliable, versatile make-up as well as watching your case weight restrictions. On my trip to Paris I picked the best products for this, which met all my needs.

Lots of walking and long days mean you need a reliable base, I took Chanel Le Blanc. It illuminates your complexion, creates a soft focus finish and provides a tacky base to help your foundation last a bit longer. For foundation I picked Armani Luminous Silk - my absolutely favourite, you could say cult foundation. It looks perfect on the skin, nor matte or dewy but that perfect balance. It lasts a long time and photographs just beautifully.

For evening when I wanted  to add a little something-something, I turned to the trusty Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder to add an undetectable sheen to my skin. Apply on the top of your cheek bones, middle of your forehead and on your cupids bow to help sculpt your face. For that bronzed look we all can't seem to live without, the YSL Bronzing Powder always hits the spot. It's completely matte, looking very natural with it's perfect tone of brown. To inject some colour to my complexion, I always turn to Laura Mercier. This Cream Cheek Colour in Sunrise is the perfect shade of coral, it's bright but brilliant.

For eyes I picked my favourite, Lancome Precious Cells Mascara. It lengthens, adds just the right amount of volume and creates a really lovely wide eyed look. I love this mascara beyond words.

What would be your make-up picks on a city break?

My Thoughts: Vaseline Spray & Go

Monday, 17 February 2014

In the world of beauty products convenience seems to be one of the most sought out factors, everyone longs for products that offer a quick fix with effective results to suit their hectic, fast paced lifestyles. Especially me, I adore my beauty products and couldn't go a day without indulging myself. But living a lifestyle where I participate in 13 hour days makes it a lot harder to keep up with everything, especially when it comes to moisturising, however I have discovered a solution...

Vaseline Spray & Go. A spray body moisturiser that promises even application with its convenient spray fitting, absorption within seconds whilst still intensely moisturising your skin and a non greasy finish. It comes in three different variants - Aloe Fresh, Cocoa Radiant and Essential Moisture. My personal favourite? Essential Moisture. They are all lovely, however I find this one especially hydrating, repairing and soothing which my skin screams for during this season, due to being in air conditioned environments and exposure to cold weather.

So, the big question, does it work? Yes. I am extremely impressed with this product. It meets every single requirement that I look for - It's spray fitting means its extremely easy to use in terms of distribution and time. It absorbs into the skin like no other, within seconds your skin is dry feeling smooth and nourished, I was very impressed by this and it's most definitely the most appealing factor for me. Additionally, it doesn't feel greasy on your skin what so ever, which I find is the case with most high-street moisturisers. I would recommend this to anyone that wants instant results. Using this in the morning whilst rushing, getting ready for work is an absolute dream and breeze to use.

Vaseline Spray & Go costs £4.99.

New Things #4

Clarins Liquid Bronze, Chanel Le Blanc Sheer Illuminating Base, Dior Gel Top Coat

It's been a while since I've shared my most recent beauty buys, and I have to say I'm quite pleased with my most recent trip to Boots. I built up quite a lot of Boots points over Christmas so decided I would treat myself to some products that have been playing on my mind...

First up is the Clarins Liquid Bronze - I've tried my fair share of face tanners and I have to say this is most definitely the most natural looking, fuss free in terms of application with great results. I apply with a cotton pad all over my face, the result is a non streaky, non greasy glowy tan to my complexion. You can apply this whenever you want, in the morning under your make-up, or my preferred way, every fourth night before hitting the hay.

Going onto the Chanel Le Blanc Sheer Illuminating Base. I always seem to go on and off primers, sometimes feeling like they work and other times feeling like they are a bit of a gimmick. However, you can't really go wrong with this one. It injects a dewy look to your skin, almost creating a soft focus effect. It's fabulous to use on its own, or underneath your foundation as a base. I find it offers a slight tackiness which is great for foundation application, giving the product something to cling on to. The only downside I feel is that it doesn't have a pump, making application a little messy and unhygienic.

Last but definitely not least, the Dior Gel Top Coat. If you really do want that ultra glossy, gel like finish then you need to get your hands on this product. I love it! It finishes of your nails like no other, it also helps to make your nail varnish last that little bit longer.
